Our People
Ensuring an adaptable, healthy and innovative workplace
Under Ability, Abigroup has embarked on a number of key initiatives focused on the health, wellbeing and development of our employees. Such initiatives include:
-
Safety – Abigroup’s focus on behavioural safety led to the development of the PULSE program. Aimed at promoting safety at work, at home and at play, Abigroup’s key message to employees through PULSE activities and branding is that ‘Safety Never Stops’. View the PULSE promotional material.
-
women@abigroup
– with women under-represented in the construction industry generally, Abigroup is supporting its female workforce. One way this is being achieved is through a newly established women@abigroup Leadership Forum. Including Abigroup’s Managing Director and senior male and female leaders from across the business, the group’s charter is to support the development and retention of women through career development, mentoring, gender equity, flexible work practices and a supportive and educated workforce. -
Employee wellbeing – Abigroup recognises the benefits that health and wellbeing can deliver to its employees and their lives in general. A number of pilot fitness programs including yoga classes and personal training sessions were trialled throughout 2009 with the result being a corporate commitment to introduce similar health and wellbeing programs across all regions in the future. -
Graduate programs – programs to support and develop graduates are currently running across all regions of Abigroup’s operations. The programs incorporate mentoring, networking and job rotation to ensure graduates are exposed to the full range of opportunities Abigroup and its experienced teams can offer. -
Learning and development – Abigroup has well established and supported schemes for Employee Development. In 2009, Leadership Development was a core focus, with extensive training and workshops being rolled out for management across all areas. Learn about our training facility at Truganina.
