Capturing and reporting emissions
Abigroup has developed a smarter data collection and analysis system to accurately measure and monitor its carbon footprint across a diverse range of projects and businesses – as well as to identify opportunities for future improvement.
The system ensures that Abigroup meets its internal reporting requirements and is well placed to meet legislative requirements for company reporting on Greenhouse Gas emissions under the NationalGreenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007 and Energy Efficiency Opportunities Act 2006.
This unique solution leverages Abigroup’s financial reporting system to input and track data. This enables the company to:
- capture data from multiple projects;
- generate one seamless report;
- have confidence in the accuracy of the data;
- react quickly to changes due to access to near real-time data; and
- generate long term records that will assist in future modelling and forecasting.
In October 2009 Abigroup won the 'Enable the Eco Enterprise Award' in recognition of the company's continuous efforts towards reducing its environmental impact.
