First bridge complete on Peninsula Link
09 February 2012
The Abigroup team on the Peninsula Link project reached an important milestone with the first of the local roadworks completed and opened to traffic on 24 January 2012.
Given the location of the bridge next to Bayside Christian College, the project team had been pushing hard to complete the works including the new school pedestrian crossing prior to the start of the new school year.
A lot of hard work went into ensuring the road was ready and the final quality of the finish is excellent. Robinsons Road is the first of a dozen roads scheduled to reopen over the coming months.
In another key milestone the project’s temporary asphalt plant is about to come online and the first asphalt laid on the freeway carriageway.
After a long wet winter last year, the recent warm dry weather means that rapid progress is being made on the project.
The Peninsula Link team is looking forward to celebrating many other important milestones over the coming months.
