Moolarben rail contract awarded to Abigroup
17 July 2009
Moolarben Coal has awarded Abigroup the contract to construct a new rail loop at its Moolarben Coal Project 40km north-east of Mudgee.
Abigroup’s scope of works under the contract include the supply and installation of ballast, sleepers and rail for rail loading facilities on site.
“This contract is the latest in a series of rail and mining infrastructure projects Abigroup has undertaken,” said Abigroup’s NSW Engineering Manager Sam Turnbull. “On the back of successful projects undertaken in the NSW Hunter Valley, rail is proving an area of opportunity and growth for the business in NSW.”
In 2008 Abigroup successfully delivered the Antiene Rail Coal Unloader for Macquarie Generation in the Hunter Valley and is currently undertaking three packages of works for the Kooragang Coal Export Terminal in Newcastle.
