Abigroup formally opens new Southern Region Office

08 July 2011

The Victorian Government’s Hon. Terry Mulder, Minister for Public Transport & Minister for Roads formally opened Abigroup’s new Southern Region Head Office at 476 St Kilda Road Melbourne on 7 July 2011 at a ceremony which was also held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the company’s foundation.

Abigroup’s Southern Region covers Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania and the region’s head office was previously based in Hawthorn.

Southern Region’s General Manager Vin Vassallo said, “The move from our office of 14 years in Hawthorn to St Kilda Road accommodates the recent growth of the Southern Region business and will enable Abigroup to provide even better customer services as well as accommodating the need to provide our staff with a first class environment to enjoy their work.”

Attending the opening ceremony was Abigroup’s Managing Director David Jurd.  He said, “It’s fitting that the formal opening of this new prestigious office should coincide with our 50th anniversary because it reflects how far we’ve come from a small earth-moving company in 1961 to a top tier contractor with a 3000 strong workforce.”

Guests at the opening ceremony were presented with a high quality book about the company’s history which was specially produced to mark Abigroup’s 50th anniversary year.

The new office fitout was completed by the Abigroup Victorian Building Division to the highest standards with quality finishes including a variety of environmental features and a registered 5-Star Green Star Interior rating that has been applied for from the Green Building Council of Australia, which is the highest standard possible in sustainable fit out design.

The new offices are in a convenient and easily accessible location and provide first class communication systems, customer meeting rooms and function facilities.
