Abigroup appointed for new Barwon Water project

The project, which commenced in late September, will see Abigroup deliver an estimated $30 million worth of works including the construction of a 16GL/year pump station and a 59km pipeline which will be operational by late November 2011.
The pump station, to be located at Cowies Hill, is inclusive of all civil, building, mechanical and electrical works and highlights Abigroup Water’s ability to provide multi-disciplined expertise, backed up by the diverse service offering of,Abigroup Contractors.

Barwon Water (Barwon Region Water Corporation) is Victoria's largest regional urban water corporation, providing world class water, sewerage and recycled water services to more than 275,000 people across a 8100 square kilometre area.
The pipeline for the Melbourne Geelong Pipeline Project will form part of the Victorian water grid and will play a critical role in meeting the region's future water demand. The project will deliver up to 16 gigalitres of water a year. This is equivalent to half of the region's current water usage.
